So I'm starting a series of journal entries that I hope will help people improve as photographers and possibly as professionals.  Each journal will have the topic in the title.  I Hope to provide some wisdom and also at the end there will be some featured photos that I think should get a little more attention.  So here is my first entry....

RTMF People!  For those of you who don't know RTFM stands for read the fucking manual.  I see so many times that people post a question in the forums and the answer to there question is right in the manual.  if you took the time to read the manual then you would be able to answer your own questions and you would be so much more knowledgeable.  Also if you don't know something Google it first and then ask on the forums or if the question is really complicated or technical and even if it is Googling it will probably find any forums that are related to it.

So for those of you who care I have several projects on the horizon.  There are basically two projects but some have spawned into smaller projects.  I've been focusing more on people and awesome lighting instead of nature so things have gotten a little more complicated.  For those of you who read my last post I acquired a 5D Mark II and I have to say t is a really amazing camera.  Also my photos that were posted in the Union Square Whole Foods have now finally been taken down.  I hope to have some work posted here soon for everyone to review.  On a final note I will be updating my work throughout the summer.

Hey Everyone

Sorry I haven't been posting much work but I've just been super busy and trying to find more interesting and unique subjects.  I've also been experimenting with light and portraitures which I like so much more than nature.  Any way I recently purchased the Canon 5D Mark II and I have to say it is quite an amazing camera.  Everything is great, some will complain about the continuous shooting speed but it really doesn't bother me since I don't plan to shoot sports on a full frame camera.  The video mode is somewhat restricted but it really doesn't bother me since I can work around it.  I have to say the noise performance is amazing.  I'm someone who hates noise in photos unless it contributes to the over message of the photo.  I can shoot iso 3200 with no problem as long as standard noise reduction is set in the camera.  Living on a full frame sensor is great especially having real 17mm but the draw back is real 70mm but still I love it.  When I took my first shot with the camera I realized that this camera could very well change how I perceive photography.  It sounds like an extreme statement but it's true.

So since I got and amazing camera I knew it was finally time to get an amazing tripod.  I did extensive researching on what tripod would suit me best and what company would provide an affordable tripod with the features I want/need.  I decided to go with Giottos MT-9371 I wanted something that could go super low with a multi-position center column but also could go tall enough for me to use, and of course it had to be stable.  Well with Giottos I got all this and more; the tripod came with a carrying bag, carrying strap, tool kit (for changing things), and it has spiked feet if you remove the rubber caps.  The tripod is aluminum only because I would like to have a little extra weight for some more stability.  Over all I love the tripod I just need to purchase a ball head.  I will post pics of it in a little bit when i get a moment but a good tripod is well worth the investment.
